Over the last 5 years, approximately 860 fishers, or ¾ of the PEIFA’s membership accessed the initial Lobster Vitality Program, which closed in February 2022. The goal was to assist members to purchase eligible equipment which would help maintain lobster vitality and quality with an aim to consistently produce a valuable product.

The PEIFA has received very positive comments from industry as well as continued demand from our members since the program closed.

The PEIFA is pleased to announce that the program is reopening, on a limited basis. Priority will be given to first time users of the program. The program will be run on a first come first served basis, until funding is extinguished. Please note that funding cannot be guaranteed.

Please click here for the application.

Funds available per fisher remains status quo. The maximum amount of cost-share funding is 50% of the cost of eligible purchased equipment up to $4,500, after spending $9000.

For more information, please contact Jennifer Dewland at (902) 566-4050 Ex. 3 or jennifer@peifa.org. The program will open on January 12th, 2023. Deadline for submission is May 1st, 2023 – or until funds are extinguished.
