*Important: By checking this option, you will have to contact the PEIFA Tags office to pay for tags and provide a physical address (not a PO Box). Courier fees will apply to the fisher. Tags will not be shipped out automatically without payment. The PEIFA will not send tags via Canada Post.

Terms of Agreement

P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. is an approved Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) tag supplier and agrees to supply tags to the License Holder and the License Holder agrees to purchase tags from the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd.

Term:

The tags shall be issued by the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. for the 2024 fishing season. The tags shall be ordered for the fishing season in the sequential number for the area trap limit.

Fee:

The fee per tag will be $0.41 plus tax. The fee per tag and all costs shall be paid to the “P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association” prior to any tags being issued or delivered. The tags will be shipped to the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. and may be delivered to the License Holder by delivery at the cost of the delivery or picked up by the License Holder.

Replacement Tags:

Replacement tags may be issued by the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. on the request of the License Holder.

The P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. is an approved supplier and will issue tags in sequential numbers to the License Holder reporting the issuance of these tags on an annual basis to the Department of Fisheries & Oceans or at such others times as requested by the Department of Fisheries & Oceans or the License Holder to ensure the License Holder is in compliance with the protocol for the Atlantic Commercial Fishery.

License Holder’s Duties and Responsibilities:

The License Holder must comply with the licensing conditions and tagging plan as required by the Department of Fisheries & Oceans.

Confidential Information:

The Parties agree that any and all information provided to the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. shall remain confidential and used for the purpose of ordering and administering tags provided that the License Holder acknowledges and agrees that the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd. has a duty to annually disclose any information relating to the tagging process to the Department of Fisheries & Oceans. The Department of Fisheries & Oceans may use these records for court, program or other purposes.
