NOTICE TO ALL PEI INDEPENDENT CORE GROUNDFISH FISHERS

The PEI Fishermen’s Association is seeking approximately17 PEI fixed gear Groundfish license holders who are interested in completing a survey station in the 2023 Halibut Longline Science Survey. A registration and draw will be administered by the PEIFA to determine the participants. PEI Independent Core fishers in possession of a valid groundfish license may apply to fish in one of the approximately 17 specific sites proposed for 2023.

Registration Dates/Times: 8:30AM Wednesday, July 26th, 2023 to 4:30PM Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023.

Location: Farm Centre, 420 University Avenue, Charlottetown

How to Register: Preferred method of registration is ONLINE using the form below. Other methods of registration are: in person, by phone or arrangements can also be made with the buyers/co-ops with proper authorization. Online registration opens Wednesday, July 26th, 2023 and closes Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023.

Required Information: Captain’s name, phone #, FIN #, Groundfish license #, vessel name, VRN# and preferred site (s) are REQUIRED. Vessels must be transferred into the participants names and vessel registration fees must be paid before DFO can issue a licence.

The Draw will be held Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 after the completion of the Registration.
