The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has made updates and improvements to the way fish harvesters can report lost gear.
How to report:
Lost or retrieved fishing gear must be reported to DFO using one of the methods below. All of these options are free of charge to harvesters.
1. Printable Form - Available here. Completed forms must be submitted to DFO in accordance with the instructions provided on the site.
2. Digital Form - Available here. This form is submitted electronically.
3. Fishing Gear Reporting System - Submit online at: https://gg-ef.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/en
