Celebrating Mother’s Day with PEI Lobster at Charlottetown Airport

Charlottetown, PE, May 11, 2014:

PEI Fisherman’s Association, Murphy Group of Restaurants, and Charlottetown Airport teamed up today to celebrate Mother’s day and PEI’s lobster season at Charlottetown Airport.
Travelers arriving at the Charlottetown airport Sunday afternoon were greeted by PEI’s famous “Bearded Skipper” Norman Peter’s. who was giving a demonstration to passengers to show them how lobster traps are made.
Passengers also had a chance to try some Island lobster as Chef Adam Loo of Merchant Man Pub prepared some of PEI’s freshest lobster rolls.
“PEI’s lobster industry is such a big part of our Island economy and we thought it was important to show our support for our Island fisherman at the start of their season,” noted Doug Newson, CEO of Charlottetown Airport.
“Mother’s Day is one of the bigger days for Lobster sales on the Island,“ noted Norman Peters. “There is something special about getting the whole family together and having a big lobster feast. We wanted to share a piece of that Island culture here today with visitors and mom’s arriving at the Charlottetown Airport,” added Peters.
Murphy Group of Restaurants has a lobster promotion running for the month of May. I Love LobsterFest is available at four Murphy Group of restaurant locations including; Sims Corner Steakhouse & Oyster Bay, The Gahan House Pub & Brewery, The Brickhouse Kitchen & Bar, and the Merchantmen Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bar.
