Everyone,

Just in case you haven’t received this otherwise, here is the latest Ship Safety Bulletin (SSB) issued by Transport Canada Marine Safety & Security (TCMSS) regarding Inspection and Maintenance of Inflatable Lifejackets and Personal Flotation Devices.  https://www.tc.gc.ca/media/documents/marinesafety/SSB-12-2019E.pdf

During this past summer’s monitoring inspections, TCMSS inspectors found that PFDs and LJs were not being maintained properly.  This prompted the drafting and issuing of this SSB to being awareness and to provide information to the end users of these products.  For those of you on this mail that represent a larger group, feel free to distribute this to all of your members / employees / colleagues / etc.

Bringing awareness to this, so people can maintain their equipment properly and in accordance with the manufactures recommendations, will help keep everyone on the water, safer.

If you wish to sign up for e-bulletins, such as this one, here is a link where that can be done.  https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/bulletins-menu-3949.htm

Regards

Rob
