VARIATION ORDER, 2011-020

The Regional Director General, Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, pursuant to paragraph 43(m) of the Fisheries Act and Subsection 6(1) of the Fishery (General) Regulations, hereby makes the annexed Order varying the close time for fishing for harp seals in Sealing Areas 21 and 24.

ORDER VARYING THE CLOSE TIME FOR FISHING
FOR HARP SEALS IN SEALING AREAS 21 AND 24

Short Title

1. This Order may be cited as Gulf Region Close Time Variation Order 2011-020.

Variation

2. The close time as fixed by section 34 of the Marine Mammal Regulations and set out in Item 1 of Schedule IV, thereto, is hereby varied so that no person shall fish for a species of seal set out in column I, in a Sealing Area or Subarea set out in Column II, with a class of fishing licence for seal set out in Column III during the close time set out in column IV.

Coming into force

3. This Order shall come into force on the date of signature and remains in force, unless otherwise revoked.

at Northwest Miscou Point on Miscou Island, to the boundary line between Sealing Areas 24 and 25, located on the shore, and, within 1.62 nautical miles (approximately 3 kilometers) from shore along the coast of Prince Edward Island, from North Cape to the boundary line between Sealing Areas 24 and 25 located on the shore. Any licence class March 26 to April 30

Note: When the geographic boundary of an area is expressed in Latitude and Longitude those point references are based on the geodesic system North American Datum 1983 (NAD83).

POUR LA PÊCHE DU PHOQUE DU GROËNLAND DANS
LES ZONES DU PHOQUE NO. 21 ET 24.

Titre abrégé

1. La présente ordonnance peut être citée comme Ordonnance de modification de la période de fermeture Région du Golfe, 2011-020.

Modification

2. La période de fermeture telle qu’établie par l'article 34 du Règlement sur les mammifères marins et indiquée dans l’article 1 de l'annexe IV est, par la présente, modifiée afin qu’aucune personne ne doive pêcher des phoques d’une espèce mentionnée à la colonne I dans une zone de pêche du phoque ou un sous-secteur visés à la colonne II, avec un permis de pêche au phoque de la catégorie visée à la colonne III durant la période de fermeture mentionnée à la colonne IV.

Entrée en vigueur

3. L'ordonnance sera en vigueur à compter de la date de signature et demeure en vigueur, sauf abrogation ultérieure.

64º31’36” longitude ouest
au Northwest Miscou Point sur l’Île Miscou jusqu’à la ligne divisant les zones du phoque 24 et 25, situé sur la côte, et à l’intérieur de 1.62 miles nautiques (approximativement 3 kilomètres) du littoral, longeant la côte de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, à partir de North Cape jusqu’à la ligne divisant les zones du phoque 24 et 25, situé sur la côte.

Toute catégorie de permis

Du 26 mars jusqu’au 30 avril.
