Halibut Reallocation - Round #2
After the first halibut reallocation opening, there is still 10.93 mt of quota remaining for PEI. Due to the amount of quota remaining there will be another halibut reallocation fishery for new participants in the future, with dates to be determined based on weather. There will be 40 PEIFA licence holders that will be authorized to participate in the future opening. The PEIFA and DFO will be having another call on Wednesday afternoon to look at a potential opening sometime next week.
The PEIFA office staff will be contacting the next 40 eligible fishers on the list to confirm if they are interested in fishing the quota.

The quota amount per vessel remains the same as the previous 2020 fishery.
