Student Employment Opportunity 

Reporting directly to Executive Director, the Data Management Technician will be responsible for accurately organizing and inputting data from various PEIFA projects. 

General Duties and Responsibilities

The position will work to collect & enter information and data related to ghost gear retrieval, whale safe gear and other research projects undertaken by the PEIFA in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries & Oceans and the Provincial Department of Fisheries & Communities. The student may also assist with other office duties as required. The student duties may include but not limited to:

•       Organization and input of data collected from specific PEIFA led projects

•       Maintenance and regular inventory of field equipment

•       Assisting with communications to members

•       Assisting with meeting preparation for various groups

•       Other tasks as required 

Requirements 

  • Be returning to studies in fall of 2023
  • Experience using MS Word and Exce
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communications skills and an understanding of good customer service
  • Ability to multi-task, handle sensitive and confidential information and prioritize
  • Background or interest in the fishing industry may be considered an asset

Compensation:  $15.08 per hour

•       Hours per week:  37.5 

•       Monday – Friday:  8:30am – 4:30pm 

•       Location: Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association, 420 University Avenue, Charlottetown, PE. 

•       Start date and end date can be flexible based on applicant availability. This is an 8 week position.
