PEIFA Scholarship Opportunity

There will be two $1000.00 scholarships awarded to two students from each fishing local for a total of twelve scholarships. Candidates will only be eligible for one local.

Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must be related to a member of the Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association.
• Applicants must have graduated from a Prince Edward Island high school in June of 2014 and be accepted as first-year students in an accredited post-secondary institution. (Please provide a copy of the acceptance letter from your institution)
• A one page essay must be included with your application on how the inshore fishery of Prince Edward Island is important to you and your community.

Rules:
• Two scholarships will be awarded to two students from the following locals:
o Eastern Kings Fishermen’s Association
o North Shore Fishermen’s Association
o Western Gulf Fishermen’s Association
o Prince County Fishermen’s Association
o Central Northumberland Fishermen’s Association
o Southern Kings and Queens Fishermen’s Association

• The deadline for submission of applications is 4:30PM on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014.

• Winners will be determined by a draw conducted at a date to be announced by the PEIFA. Winners will be notified by phone and may be required to attend an awards presentation and media event.
