Notice To Interested Bluefin Tuna Hook & Release Captains


Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada would like to request that those charter captains interested in the PEI Bluefin Tuna Hook & Release 2012 Fishery please apply online for their Section 52 – Experimental Fishery Licence at the following site at least 10 days before they intend to take out their first charter:

Click “Licenses” on the ‘Going Fishing’ menu from the Gulf DFO website
Click “Licensing – Frequently Used Forms”
Click “Application for Scientific Licence”
Note: When applying for an Experimental Fishery Licence online,
ensure that you include a valid email address.
(*Note: Each charter operator must submit this application online and have individual contracts with Biorex)

 

In order to expedite the screening process for each application, interested participants need to pre-register with the DFO-Resource Management Office in Charlottetown and forward the following information to Ms. Lisa Hughes (Lisa.Hughes@dfo-mpo.gc.ca)
1) Name, address, e-mail address, phone ( mobile cell )
2) Tuna License number and Vessel Name + VRN
3) Transport Canada certification numbers for vessel and Captain
