UPEI researcher, Dr. Carolyn Brown, is looking for any small craft harbour users, aged 18 or over, to participate in a study about species at risk.

Knowledge about species at risk is not necessary for participation in the study.

The aim of the research is to better understand the role that small craft harbour users are playing, or can play, in the protection of the environment and species at risk on PEI. This will provide important information to guide the development of best practices and educational programs about species at risk on PEI.

The interview will take approximately 20 minutes to complete, at a location and time that best suits you, for example a local coffee shop. You will be asked to answer questions about your awareness and knowledge about species at risk on PEI and your perspective on their protection.  Your participation will be kept confidential, meaning that your personal identity will not be revealed.

If you are interested in participating in this study then please contact Tristan Atkins, 902-213-0479 or tatkins@upei.ca OR Dr. Carolyn Brown, 902-620-5066 or hcpbrown@upei.ca. If you know of others who might be interested in participating in this study then please feel free to give them a copy of this poster so that they can contact the researcher.

This project forms part of a larger dialogue on PEI’s coastal environments, led by Island Nature Trust and funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada. For more information on the full project, feel free to contact Megan Harris, 902-892-7513 or exdir@islandnaturetrust.ca
