Department of Fisheries & Oceans will be conducting a scallop research mission from June 23 to July 5, 2017 on the Coast Guard research vessel, CCGS MPerley.

The research will include the study of health/stress condition of scallops by looking at stress levels (haemocytes, RNA) and histology (parasite/ disease screening).  Four beds will be studied including West Point, Cape Tormentine, Pictou and Miminegash.  Parallel to this we will collect samples for typical biological information ( shell height, meat weight,..) and environmental data (temperature, salinity, pH...).
