PEI Tuna update – September 27th, 2023

 

Following the conference call with DFO today, DFO will be issuing an additional 61 reallocation tags (58 tags for PEI commercial fishers using the draw list and 3 tags to Indigenous groups).  Tags will be available at the DFO office starting tomorrow, Thursday September 28th at Noon.  New license conditions will also be issued at noon Thursday. The tag issuance will begin at #68 to #136 inclusive on the Canadian draw list. There is a possibility of more tags being issued by DFO moving forward with another conference call to be held next Wednesday October 3rd for an update on the PEI landings to date and we also await word from DFO on the Mexican quota transfer.
