PEI Tuna update – September 27^th, 2023

Following the conference call with DFO today, DFO will be issuing an additional 61 reallocation tags (58 tags for PEI commercial fishers using the draw list and 3 tags to Indigenous groups). Tags will be available at the DFO office starting tomorrow, Thursday September 28^th at Noon. New license conditions will also be issued at noon Thursday. The tag issuance will begin at #68 to #136 inclusive on the Canadian draw list. There is a possibility of more tags being issued by DFO moving forward with another conference call to be held next Wednesday October 3^rd for an update on the PEI landings to date and we also await word from DFO on the Mexican quota transfer.
