The PEIFA have been advised by DFO that the request to extend the PEI Smelt season has been approved so the season is extended until 11:59PM, March 7th, 2021. See attached DFO Notice to Fishers for more details:

EXTENSION TO PEI COMMERCIAL SMELT FISHERY
Charlottetown, PE – February 22, 2021 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) – Gulf Region, wishes to advise that the Prince Edward Island (PEI) commercial smelt season will be extended until March 7, 2021.
