Charlottetown, PE – October 12, 2022 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is announcing the reallocation fishery for Atlantic Halibut in Prince Edward Island (PEI). 

Individual Allocation: The Atlantic Halibut reallocation fishery has an individual catch limit of 335 kg round weight, for eligible participants. To convert dressed (head on, gutted) weight to round weight, multiply dressed weight by 1.14. The maximum individual by-catch limit of cod is 50kg. All fishing activities must cease once this by-catch limit is reached. 

Season: The reallocation fishery will occur from 4 a.m. on October 17th until 4 p.m. on October 22nd or until the quota is caught. Licence holders are not permitted to leave port until 2 a.m. on the day of an opening and must return to port by 6 p.m. the day the fishery closes.
