Notice to Vessel Registry Clients-Charlottetown

At Transport Canada, Marine Safety and Security, we are moderizing the way we serve Canadians by enhancing certain services that we provide. This includes the registration of vessels.

We are moving our Vessel Registry services out of the regions and centralizing them in Ottawa. For many years, we have been registering small vessels from a centralized office in Ottawa, which has proven to be very successful. Bringing all registry activities together in one place will allow us to modernize the way we do things, offer uninterrupted service and provide a single point of access to clients for all Ports of Registry.

The centralization of our Regional Offices will occur in differnet parts of the country at different times, and the process will be complete across Canada by April 1, 2013. As a result of these changes the:

Regional Office in Charlottetown will transfer to Ottawa on March 01, 2013

No registration service will be available in the Charlottetown office after March 01, 2013.

As of March 01, 2013, you will need to send your  completed application form and other documents to Transport Canada headquarters in Ottawa. For more information, please visit our website at www.tc.gc.ca/marinesafety/menu.htm or reach us at:

Transport Canada-Marine Safety and Security (AMSED), Vessel Registration Office, Tower C, Place de Ville, 330 sparks Street, 10th Floor, Ottawa, ON  K1A 0N8

Your service needs are a priority for us as we centralize our operations. If you have any questions, or urgent matters, please call us at 1-877-242-8770, or contact Vessel Registry at VRIB@tc.gc.ca
