In 2018, the PEIFA and the HFA 16G Advisory Committee are assisting with herring research through the Department of Fisheries & Oceans.  Currently, we are seeking interested herring fishers to participating in completing acoustic sounding along predetermined grid lines in North Lake and Fishermen's Bank (HFA 16G).  Acoustic sounding is typically completed when the fishery is closed, thus on the weekend as well as the week before and after the fishery.    The PEIFA are also seeking seperate participant to assist with the variable mesh 5-panel testnet during the HFA 16G fishery.  Funds are available to assist with some costs.

If you have interest and would like to know more about the protocol and details, contact Laura Ramsay 902-393-2281 or one of the HFA 16G Advisory Committee member.
