CONTAMINATED FISHERIES
PROHIBITION ORDER NO. GSN-2010-040
The Regional Director General for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for the Gulf Region pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, made by Order in Council P.C. 1990-1121 of June 14, 1990*, hereby revokes the Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2010-037 issued on September 17, 2010, and issues the annexed Order prohibiting fishing for contaminated fish.

CONTAMINATED FISHERIES
PROHIBITION ORDER NO. GSN-2010-040
ORDER PROHIBITING FISHING FOR CONTAMINATED FISH
Short Title
1. This order may be cited as the Contaminated Fisheries
Prohibition Order No. GSN-2010-040.
Coming into Force
2. This Order shall come into force on the date of signature and remains in force unless otherwise revoked.
NOTICE
The Regional Director General for the Gulf Region, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, hereby gives notice that Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2010-037 (closing the area listed below) is hereby revoked thereby opening a portion of West River in the Province of Prince Edward Island:
A portion of West river upstream from a line drawn from grid reference 487580 5117750 to grid reference 488000 5117000 and to a line drawn from grid reference 486160 5116040 to grid reference 485580 5117510. (Refer to map Charlottetown 11 L/3).
Note: When the boundary of an area is expressed in grid references, those grid references are based on the Universal Transverse Mercator Grid System set out in the National Topographic Series Map, Scale 1:50,000 published by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. (North American Datum 1983)
Fishers are reminded that nearby waters (portions of North River, Hillsborough River and Charlottetown Harbour) are still closed to fishing due to high levels of bacteria. Fishers are encouraged to consult their local Fishery Officers or visit the website mentioned below concerning the status of the fishing areas before going fishing.

Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2010-040 comes into force on October 1, 2010 and remains in force unless otherwise revoked.
Contaminated Fisheries Prohibition Order No. GSN-2010-037 issued on September 17, 2010, is revoked.
