Notice to Fish Harvesters
2010 Prince Edward Island – ATLANTIC HALIBUT (4T) FIXED GEAR FLEET CHANGES TO THE OPENING DATE
Moncton – September 15, 2010 - The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO)
announces that the opening of the Atlantic Halibut fishery for the Prince Edward Island
fixed gear fleet, scheduled to open at 7:00 a.m. on September 16, 2010, will be delayed
by 24 hours due to unfavourable weather conditions.
This fishery will take place over a period of 10 hours starting at 7:00 a.m. on Friday
September 17, 2010 and end at 5:00 p.m. the same day. This period may be modified due
to inclement weather or other uncontrollable circumstances.
As indicated in the September 3, 2010 Notice to Fish Harvesters, the maximum number
of hooks permitted is 400 hooks.
The remaining 4T Atlantic Halibut allocation for the Prince Edward Island fixed gear
fleet is 8.27 metric tonnes.
