SEEKING VOLUNTEER CAPTAINS/VESSELS FOR LFA 25 POST SEASON GEAR CLEAN UP

Any volunteer Captains wanting to participate in the post-season LFA 25 Gear Retrieval & Clean Up will need to register with their PCFA Harbour rep before Tuesday at noon.  They will need the Captain's cell #, vessel name and VRN#.  A one-page waiver is now available (click on link below) which Captain's will be asked to sign and submit (via email or text) to the PEIFA.  Clean up days will be between Friday Oct 14th and Tuesday 18th with at least one day designated for Southern zone of LFA 25 and one day for Northern.  This year DFO will be issuing special Section 52 licenses for each registered and approved Captain.  The Section 52 license allows Captains to take any gear found onto your vessel and land the gear at your local homeport. Grappling is also allowed. A per diem$ will be given to participating Captains that give at least 5 hours of their time to the clean up to help cover some basic costs.  The clean up is voluntary and if fishers register but cannot assist on the scheduled day, there is nothing requiring them to assist.   If you want to help, let your PCFA Harbour rep know before Tuesday at noon.
