The registration for the 2014 Commercial PEI Halibut fishery through the PEIFA is complete as of the 7pm Deadline today, August 22nd.

The unofficial count of approximately 216 Captains have registered through the PEIFA.  First Nation groups have registered through the Department of Fisheries & Oceans and will add to the compliment of fishers entering this year's fishery.  DFO will be checking eligibility of all those who registered.

There will be approximately 22.8T available to be divided amongst the total number of participants.  The official catch limits will be on all fishers halibut license conditions.  These conditions should be available on the DFO licensing system early next week.

We will advise fishers of the official numbers including the official catch limit when this information becomes available.
