PEI BLUEFIN TUNA - UPDATE MONDAY, OCTOBER 18TH 2021:  

Following the DFO conference call with the Working Group and the Advisory Committee, DFO has advised that as of today, Monday, October 18th approximately 98.55% of the quota is landed for the 2021 PEI Bluefin tuna fishery.  They concluded that the remaining quota will be carried forward and added to next year’s PEI tuna quota.  DFO is still working on the final numbers for landed PEI tuna this past week.  A DFO Notice will be issued later today or tomorrow confirming the fishery is concluded for 2021.
