Following this morning’s DFO conference call with the PEIFA Tuna Advisory Committee, it was announced that a total of 108 tags will be released for the Canadian reallocation which opens on Friday, September 29th.  DFO will be confirming eligibility of those next on the Canadian tuna reallocation draw list starting at #195.  License conditions should be available on fisher’s NOLS by tomorrow (Thursday).  Eligible fishers can pick up their Canadian reallocation tags at the DFO Office starting this afternoon.

108 tags represents 90% of the remaining quota based on the average weight of tuna coming in.  Another conference all will be held by DFO on Monday afternoon to discuss remaining quota with potential for release of more tags.  For more information, please contact DFO’s Chris Mills at 566-7807.
