Questionnaires/votes were reviewed on March 8th, 2021 by 8 scrutineers at the Farm Centre, Charlottetown.
226 returned questionnaires out of a total of 356 LFA 26A commercial lobster license holders. This equates to an 63.5% return rate.
The following were the results:
1. Given the information provided above, when should LFA 26A move ahead with the 1mm carapace size increase?
93 votes for 2021 spring season (41%)
133 votes for 2022 spring season (59%)
0 spoiled ballots
Given the results, the PEIFA LFA 26A Lobster Advisory Committee will move forward with the request to the Department of Fisheries & Oceans to increase by 1mm (to 75mm) in the spring of 2022.
