2021 PEIFA LOBSTER FISHING AREA 26A QUESTIONNAIRE VOTE

  • Questionnaires/votes were reviewed on March 8th, 2021 by 8 scrutineers at the Farm Centre, Charlottetown.

  • 226 returned questionnaires out of a total of 356 LFA 26A commercial lobster license holders. This equates to an 63.5% return rate.

    The following were the results:

1. Given the information provided above, when should LFA 26A move ahead with the 1mm carapace size increase?

  • 93 votes for 2021 spring season (41%)

  • 133 votes for 2022 spring season (59%)

  • 0 spoiled ballots

    Given the results, the PEIFA LFA 26A Lobster Advisory Committee will move forward with the request to the Department of Fisheries & Oceans to increase by 1mm (to 75mm) in the spring of 2022.

    The PEIFA LFA 26A Lobster Advisory Committee would like to thank all lobster license holders for their valuable input.
