The spring lobster opening was discussed at the season review meeting of the PEIFA LFA 26A Lobster Advisory Committee. Concerns were raised around additional handling of moulting and spawning lobster when fishing into July resulting in possible negative implications on the stock like increased mortality and egg loss. Similar discussions were being held in Nova Scotia and yielded similar concerns.

For those unable to access this method or those who have not received the email, please call the PEI Fishermen’s Association (902-566-4050 ext. 2) for assistance with completing the vote. Fishers will be asked to provide their names, phone numbers and lobster license numbers. This information will not be shared and is only to ensure that votes are valid PEI 26A lobster license holders.
