As we've been taking many inquiries on the Mexican tuna tags, here is a brief update on the process:
In discussion with DFO staff, the
necessary approvals/paperwork for the distribution of Mexican quota to Canadian
fleets are ongoing. As such, Mexican tuna tags will not be
available to PEI fishers this week, nor any other Canadian fleet. A
further update on the process is expected from DFO early next week. As
soon as information is available to us, we will advise.
