Transport Canada has provided us with a map of the current volunteer vessel routing system in the Northumberland Strait.  With the increasing traffic in the Strait particularly with Cruise Ships, Representative fishers met with Transport Canada to discuss possible gear conflict.  Both parties agreed to share the following information on the routing system that is provided to vessels and agencies travelling through the Northumberland Strait and to increase awareness on this route.

The following pdf file is a map of the current routing system:  userfiles/Northumberland Strait Routing system map.pdf

For more information on this route, please contact Transport Canada's Ensor MacNeill at 566-7990.
