2019 PEIFA LOBSTER FISHING AREA 24 QUESTIONNAIRE
THESE ARE THE RESULTS OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE AND ALL MANAGEMENT MEASURES PUT FORWARD WILL BE SUBJECT TO DFO APPROVAL.
• Ballots counted on November 21ST, 2019 by 6 scrutineers at the Farm Centre, Charlottetown.
• 459 returned questionnaires out of a total of 601 LFA 24 commercial lobster license holders. This equates to an 76.4% return rate. Of the 459, there were 2 spoiled ballots.
1. Do you support a 1mm increase in the minimum carapace size from 73mm to 74mm in LFA 24 for the 2020 fishing season?
276 YES (60.1%)
181 NO (39.4%)
2 SPOILED BALLOT (0.4%)
*Note: The escape mechanism height would be adjusted with an increase to the minimum carapace size
