RESULTS 

2024 PEIFA LOBSTER FISHING AREA 24 QUESTIONNAIRE 

•      Ballots counted on September 23rd, 2024 by 6 scrutineers at the Farm Centre, Charlottetown. 
•      418 returned questionnaires out of a total of 594 LFA 24 commercial lobster license holders. This equates to a 70.4% return rate. Of the 418 returns, there was 1 spoiled questionnaire.

1. ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF AN LFA 24 OPENING DATE ON APRIL 25TH TO AVOID JULY FISHING? 

• 260 votes for APRIL 25TH (62.4%) 
• 156 votes for APRIL 30th (37.4%) 
• 1 spoiled vote (0.2%) 

2. ARE YOU IN FAVOR OF A 1MM MINIMUM CARAPACE SIZE INCREASE (75MM TO 76MM) IN LFA 24 in 2025? 

• 165 votes for YES (39.6%) 
• 251 votes for No (60.2%) 
• 1 spoiled vote (0.2%) 

As noted on the questionnaire, The LFA 24 Lobster Advisory Committee will be moving forward with a result of 50% plus one (for each question) of returned ballots.
