Dear Colleague:

You are cordially invited to a presentation that will summarize the Canadian inputs to the bluefin tuna stock assessment scheduled for September, 2010. The purpose of the presentation is to inform you of the recent trends (catches, catch rates, fishery distribution) in the Canadian fishery as determined by DFO Science, and to seek your assistance in interpreting them prior to the stock assessment. Canada contributes critical information to the assessment. Having a complete and accurate picture of the fishery since the last assessment is very important, and we hope you are able to attend. Please feel free to include members of your organization in this invitation – we are particularly interested in hearing the views of active fishermen. Also note there are two options to participate this year, for your convenience. The same material will be discussed during the two meetings.
