HALIBUT UPDATE:The Groundfish Advisory and DFO had a conference call this morning to discuss the opening of the halibut fishery. Weather for Monday is not ideal, but looking better on Tuesday. There will be another call on Monday morning to discuss opening the season on Tuesday (Nov. 3rd), Wednesday (Nov. 4th) and Thursday (Nov. 5th) of next week (weather permitted). Friday is a back-up option if weather is not suitable Tuesday. 
The decision was made that whether the fishery opens next week or not; Friday, November 6th at 6pm the halibut fishery will close. Any remaining quota will be rolled over into next year's quota.
