DFO will be issuing a Notice to Fish Harvesters later today on a decision made today in consultation with the Groundfish Advisory board via conference call. There will be a change in date for the opening of the Halibut fishery for PEI fleet to August 23rd, 2011.
There has also been a DFO decision made on the reconcilliation process. With this said, the Advisory Board agreed to take the 2010 overrun (approx 8T) and spread over 3 years. Thus the new quota for PEI Halibut is 31.06T.
Lastly, Miscou box coordinates will be open for the PEI fleet - Halibut fishery.
