Attention Captains

DO YOU HAVE AN EPIRB ON YOUR VESSEL?

IS IT REGISTERED?

EPIRB’s form a very important part of the Search and Rescue system. They provide for early notification of a possible distress situation. Registered EPIRB’s provide important contact information to Search Planners and Rescuers.

Unregistered EPIRB’s can cause delays in locating distressed vessels.

If you are not sure if your EPIRB has been registered you can e-mail the EPIRB registry     cbr@sarnet.dnd.ca and provide your vessel and owners name. You can also call  1-877-406-7671
