The PEIFA would like to clarify that in March 2022 a meeting did take place between PEIFA Executive members, Chief Gould and Abegweit fishery representatives regarding the upcoming Spring season.  In this meeting the Chief confirmed his members would not be participating in a fishery that is related to fishing for a Moderate Livelihood. The PEIFA would like to thank Chief Gould for his outreach on this important topic.  In the past two years there has been other meetings on this topic as the PEIFA and Abegweit First Nations work towards a fishery that is peaceful, inclusive and protects our valuable oceans resources.
