We’ve received another update on whale closures from DFO. There was a new detection so the announcement of a few additional grids to close are listed below. Also, there is 1 grid where there was a second sighting between days 9-15 (after the first sighting), so that grid is now closed until November 15^th. It is depicted in black on the images. 

 

The following grid(s) will be closing on May 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.: 

• • Full grid(s) HD44, HD45, HE44, HE45, HF44, HF45 

 

DFO is providing a 72-hour delay for the above grid closure(s) due to the weather forecast. All gear affected by this notice must be removed from the closed area before the time of closure. 

Following a repeat detection within days nine to fifteen of a 15 day dynamic closure period, the following grid(s) will be placed into a seasonal closure status starting today until November 15, 2022:
