The 2023 PEIFA Gear Retrieval project begins today, Monday, July 31st, 2023, until Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023. The PEIFA has approximately 26 vessels from 16 wharves across LFAs 24, 25 & 26A assisting with the at-sea retrievals this year!
This initiative is an important collaboration between the Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association, Prince County Fishermen’s Association, and PEIFA LFA 24 & 26A Lobster Advisory Committees. We would like to thank all the participants including the harbour representatives and harbour authorities for their participation and assistance with the project. Your contributions through these retrieval activities are helping to keep our coastal environments clean and safe for navigation.
Below are the project participants based on the registration and draw of qualified fishers: Many thanks to all those who've shown interest in the project. If you would like to know where you've placed in the draw, contact the PEIFA office staff and we can relay.
