 Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) announces upcoming training sessions for the bluefin tuna catch and release fishery and information sessions on the new logbook for the bluefin tuna commercial fishery that will take place in the Gulf Region. Details and locations of these sessions are described below. No need to register in advance to participate. 

 

These sessions are aimed at tuna licence holders and any interested members of the tuna fishing industry. 

 

Training for the catch and release fishery 
Training for the catch and release fishery will be mandatory for all tuna licence holders wishing to obtain a bluefin tuna catch and release licence in 2023. The first session will be held at 9:00 am, on July 11 at the Farm Center located at 420 University Ave, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI).
