PEI Bluefin Tuna update as of November 2nd, 2020:   

 

PEI’s portion of the Canadian Bluefin Quota: 160,887kg

688 Bluefin Tuna landed

Total quota landed: 156,251 kg landed

Average weight: 227kg

Percentage of quota landed: 97.12%

 

There is 4,626 kg remaining with approximately 26 tags remaining.  At an average weight of 227kg, it will take 20-21 fish to fill the PEI quota.

 

*Please note that once the PEI portion of the Canadian quota reaches 100%, the fishery WILL close. 

*Licence holders should also note that having a Bluefin Tuna tag in your possession allows access to fish but does not guarantee your quota.
