RESULTS

2017 PEIFA LOBSTER FISHING AREA 26A SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE

 

Results were scrutinized on November 28th, 2017 by the LFA 26A Lobster Advisory Committee and Laura Ramsay PEIFA. 

 

A total of 234 surveys were returned out of a total of 355 Commercial LFA 26A lobster license holders for a return rate of 66%.  The following were the results.  Please note all management measures put forward will be subject to DFO approval.

 

  1. Do you support a lobster carapace size increase in LFA 26A of 1mm in 2018, no increase in 2019, another 1 mm increase in 2020 (up to 74 mm) with a review following the increases?

Increase of 1mm (72mm to 73mm)

2019

No increase

2020

Increase of 1mm (73mm to 74mm) with an escape panel increase.  A review would follow this season increase.
