2017 PEIFA LOBSTER FISHING AREA 24 QUESTIONNAIRE

THESE ARE THE RESULTS OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE AND ALL MANAGEMENT MEASURES PUT FORWARD WILL BE SUBJECT TO DFO APPROVAL. 

 ·        Ballots counted on November 24th, 2017 by 6 scrutineers at the Farm Centre, Charlottetown.

 ·     423 returned questionnaires out of a total of 601 LFA 24 commercial lobster license holders.  This equates to a 70.4% return rate. 

 

1.      A) Do you support a lobster carapace size increase in LFA 24 for the 2018 fishing season?

242  YES (58%)        

 

178   NO   (42%)

            B) If YES, please choose your preferred level of increase for 2018:

 

                        69     Increase of 0.5 mm (from 72mm to 72.5mm) (29%)

2.       Do you support a minimum of 2 escape panels per parlor end to be implemented by the 2019 fishing season in LFA 24?
